Chelsea go into the game with a two-point advantage over their rivals having managed to erase memories of their shocking performance against Aston Villa. Last week the Blues beat Bolton 4-0 away from home thanks to goals from Frank Lampard, Deco and Didier Drogba. Zat Knight scored an own goal to round off Bolton's miserable night.
During the mid-week, Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Atletico Madrid, but managed to progress to the knockout phase of the competition. Didier Drogba grabbed a brace that nullified a similar effort from Sergio Aguero for Atletico. Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with his side's showing and will be hoping for more of the same on Sunday.
Meanwhile Manchester United have also progressed to the next stage of Champions League following their amazing comeback to grab a 3-3 draw against CSKA Moscow. Alan Dzagoev, Milos Krasic and Vasili Berezutsky scored for Moscow and had put the visitors 3-1 ahead after Michael Owen had grabbed a goal in the first half. A great display in the final 6 minutes saw Paul Scholes and Antonio Valencia score to snatch a draw out of what looked like a sure defeat.
